Cirque Corporation Launches Telemark Development Kit for Sale at Cirque.com

Flexible Arduino-Based Platform Empowers Engineers to Prototype Touchpads, Capacitive Buttons, Sliders, and Proximity Sensing in a Single Modular Kit

Salt Lake City, Utah — Cirque Corporation, a global leader in capacitive sensing and touch input solutions and a subsidiary of Alps Alpine Co., Ltd., today announced that the Telemark Development Kit is now available for direct purchase at cirque.com/telemark-dev-kit. Priced at $99, the Telemark Dev Kit gives hardware engineers, product designers, and entrepreneurs immediate access to Cirque’s professional-grade capacitive sensing technology in a flexible, easy-to-use prototyping platform.

Built around an Arduino-compatible hub and engineered to integrate with Cirque’s Gen6 and Gen6s cap sensing controller breakout boards, the Telemark Dev Kit is designed for engineers who need to rapidly prototype a wide range of touch and sensing solutions. A single Cirque ASIC can simultaneously power touch buttons, touchpads, sliders, and proximity sensors, giving developers capabilities far beyond what simple capacitive button or slider solutions can provide.

“For over 30 years, Cirque has been solving the hardest capacitive sensing challenges in markets like gaming, notebook PCs and industrial sensing. Now we’re making that same expertise directly accessible to any engineer who wants to build something new. Whether you’re designing a next-generation game controller, a smart home device, or an industrial interface, this kit gives you a serious head start.”

— Steve Baker, Director of Sales, Cirque Corporation

Key Features

  • Modular design, mix and match sensor boards to fit with your application, or wire up your own hardware.

  • Multi-function sensing from a single ASIC: touchpads, capacitive buttons, sliders, and proximity sensors.

  • High-resolution X/Y touch position tracking with true gesture input — not a matrix of button zones.

  • Arduino-based platform (Teensy 4.0 included) for fast, accessible development.

  • Two controller options: Gen6 (48 channel) for larger touchpad applications; Gen6s (30 channel) for smaller, space-constrained designs.

  • Supports approach-detection proximity as well as complex proximity gesture input out of the box.

What’s in the Box

Each Telemark Dev Kit includes: the GlidePoint Development Board with Teensy 4.0 Arduino pre-mounted, a Gen6 or Gen6s breakout board “Frostbeast” Capacitive Proximity Sensor Board, “Yeti” Capacitive Sensor Board, USB cable, and a Quick Start Guide. Out of the box, the kit supports small touchpad development, capacitive buttons and sliders, and proximity sensing for touchless interaction.

Developer resources — including the Quick Start Guide, TouchTools 3 software, sample code, and configuration files — are available at cirque.com/telemark-dev-kit.

Target Applications

  • The Telemark Dev Kit is suited for prototyping across a wide range of applications, including:

  • Gaming, AR/VR controllers — joystick touch sensing, high-resolution trackpads, proximity grip detection

  • Remote controls — touch buttons and trackpads for on-screen menu navigation

  • Headphones — gesture inputs and proximity sensing for wear-detection

  • Smart home / white goods — touch buttons, sliders, and proximity-activated lighting

  • Industrial machine controls

Availability and Pricing

The Telemark Development Kit is available now at cirque.com/telemark-dev-kit. Both the Gen6 and Gen6s variants are priced at $99.00 USD. Customers with questions about custom design requirements or higher-volume engagements are encouraged to contact Cirque directly.
