Cirque and SecureKey to demonstrate secure contactless technology using integrated EMV Trackpad at CARTES 2012

Salt Lake City, Utah and Toronto, Canada – Cirque, the leader in secure capacitive input solutions, will be demonstrating its GlideSecure™ trackpad concept at the CARTES Exposition next week in Paris, France. This new trackpad solution will be the first of its kind to feature patented on-board EMV contactless card reading functionality using SecureKey’s innovative authentication service. As a fully integrated technology solution, GlideSecure trackpads with SecureKey’s technology will provide an ideal solution for personal authentication and payment applications.

Cirque’s secure input solutions have been repeatedly proven in the POS (point of sale) terminal market. Cirque technology is able to meet the stringent requirements for PIN number entry on a touch sensor (PCI PTS 3.0). GlideSecure trackpads will feature this same secure input technology, plus robust, feature rich touch input with one of the most complete multi-finger gesture suites, and industry-leading finger tracking ballistics. The addition of on-board EMV contactless, and SecureKey’s authentication capabilities will complete the total secure input solution.

“We see many future applications for this type of solution in payment and authentication peripherals, as well as in consumer electronics such as the latest generation of notebook PCs and tablet accessories,” said Douglas Moore, Vice President of Input Solutions at Cirque. “We are very excited to be working with SecureKey to bring this solution to the market.”

SecureKey’s innovative authentication solution turns ordinary consumer devices into secure terminals that enable simple ‘tap-to-pay’ and ‘tap-to-authenticate’ consumer experiences using real-world payment and identity credentials. SecureKey is being embedded in a wide range of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, including Intel® Identity Protection Technology and various SIM-based and embedded secure element platforms.

“We are working with a broad range of global payment, financial services, and government organizations to enhance online security and payments in a simple and convenient manner,” said Charles Walton, CEO of SecureKey Technologies Inc. “We are thrilled to be working with Cirque to enable GlideSecure trackpads, an ideal, integrated EMV contactless solution for OEM customers.”
