Summary:
Cirque is looking for a new Financial Controller to help support our growing company. This position will be a one-person department overseeing all aspects of Cirque’s accounting and finance.
Successful candidates must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant and experience with inventory. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. You will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures, including reconciling bank balances, PO discrepancies, completing AP payments and AP aging, managing AR, entering and updating journal entries, and assisting with inventory management
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
Prepare internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecast
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
Be familiar with R&D tax credits, report on monthly R&D activities, and complete annual IRS reports
Oversee regulatory reporting, collaborate with external firm for tax planning and compliance
Complete annual worker’s compensation and insurance audit
Coordinate activities of external auditors for annual audit
Assist in the preparation of annual budget reports and forecasts
Train to be a backup to HR to conduct payroll
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with Quickbooks required
Experience with Bill.com or equivalent preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
3-5 years proven accounting experience
Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA
Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
Strong Excel skills
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
CPA highly preferred
Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
Hybrid – Minimum of two (2) days onsite per week, depending on work needs.
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000/year
